Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

Vulmon Recon ("the Service"), including its self-hosted edition Recon Essentials, is operated by Kontra Siber Savunma Teknoloji Limited Şirketi ("Kontra", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, or by installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you accept these terms for that organization and confirm that you are authorized to do so.

2. The Service

Vulmon Recon is an external attack surface management platform that helps organizations discover and monitor their external attack surface and related assets across internet-facing and cloud environments, and surfaces potential security exposures such as known vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. Scanning is non-intrusive: the Service maps and fingerprints assets and checks them against known issues, without running exploits. Its features may change over time. The Service is provided for lawful security and defensive purposes only.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Authorization to scan

You may only add and monitor assets that you own or are explicitly authorized to assess. By adding a domain, IP address or other asset, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to have it analyzed by the Service. You also acknowledge that active discovery, scanning and probing may occasionally affect the availability, integrity or performance of the systems being assessed, and you accept that risk for the assets you add. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use complies with all applicable laws and third-party rights. We rely on the representation you make above; if we determine that an asset was added without the necessary authorization, we may remove it and suspend the account involved.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) add or scan assets you are not authorized to assess; (b) use the Service for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose; (c) attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorized access to the Service, or to circumvent its license checks or usage limits; or (d) resell or provide the Service to third parties without our prior consent.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance through our third-party payment provider on a recurring basis until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled as described in our Refund Policy. We may change plan pricing with reasonable advance notice.

7. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design and content. The findings and reports generated for your assets are yours to use for your internal security purposes.

If you install Recon Essentials, we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use it for your own organization. You may not use it to provide services to others without our prior consent. The open-source components it includes are licensed under their own licenses, listed in its third-party notices, and those licenses govern them.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, modify or discontinue features at any time.

10. No security guarantee; warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". It is a security aid, not a guarantee: we do not warrant that it will discover every asset, vulnerability or exposure, or that findings will be complete or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kontra will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Kontra, its affiliates and personnel from and against any claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, penalties, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your breach of section 4 (Authorization to scan) or section 5 (Acceptable use); (b) the assessment of any asset you added without holding the necessary authorization; or (c) any third-party claim that your use of the Service infringed its rights or applicable law. We will notify you of any such claim without undue delay, and you will assume its defense at your own expense; we may participate in the defense with counsel of our own choosing, and no settlement that imposes any obligation on us may be entered into without our prior written consent.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. When a trial or subscription ends, or you ask us to delete your account, your data is kept for a limited time, during which you can export it, and is then deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, and your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction over any dispute, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
